Hospital Description

Per month, around 500 Cath Procedures including angiography, angioplasty, primary PTCA, PPI and other procedures take place at the Heart & General Hospital. On average, 45 Cardiac Surgeries are performed in a Month including CABG, Valve Replacement, ASD/VSD, TOF and other surgeries. Average 1800 OPD Consultations in a Month. Average 600 IPD Admissions in a Month.

Internship profile

Typical day and tasks of an intern

Elective students shadow the local staff members and observe the working process. Under supervision of the local team, students can also perform basic medical treatments such as changing the bandages, feeding patients, preparing the injection liquids, etc. Working days: Monday to Friday. Interns should bring their own hospital clothes (white, green or blue medical coat and closed shoes of any colour). It is also advisable to bring hand sanitiser as well as a stethoscope. Those entering the surgery ward should also bring green or blue scrubs, a surgical mask and surgical cap.
